This recent addition to our bindery department is used in making catalogs with thick spines and multiple page counts. The automated page collating feature is extremely beneficial for larger collateral catalogs. The finished high quality catalogs are glued with a wrap-around cover and trimmed on three sides. In order to accommodate the growth and diverse needs of our customers we are excited to offer perfect binding as an in-house option. Bringing this service back inside MSS allows us to meet more stringent requirements for completion of projects. With the closing of a year rapidly approaching, we look back at all the exciting machine additions at MSS. We’ve added an 8-color flexographic printing press, which complements existing flexographic equipment and increases capacity to keep pace with customer demand.

The delivery of our new 11-color Heidelberg printing press is scheduled in the first quarter. This press will be the second of a kind installed in the state. The machine will produce two-sided printed pieces of literature at a rate of 15,000 sheets an hour thus supporting customer increased demand. This machine is by far the largest single enhancement to date that MSS has ever experienced and will keep us on the leading edge of printing technology.
